Denmark consists of the Jutland Peninsula, the islands Bornholm, Zealand, Funen and other 400 smaller islands. This Nordic country has many different faces. On one hand it is the heir of the Vikings and on the other it is one of the capitals of modern design. Its cities with turbulent history are also educational, cultural and industrial centers. Among these are Copenhagen, Aarhus, Odense, Ribe, Helsingor. Denmark's nature is also one of the country's merits. Rugged coastline and fjords, sandy beaches and dramatic seas, mountains and thick forests dominate the landscape of Denmark. Last but not least, it is the balanced and welcoming nature of Danes that makes a trip to this country an enjoyable experience. Hotels in Denmark are located mainly along its coastline and the major cities. They vary from budget family hotels to modern designer hotels. Denmark also offers a lot of camps sites, farm houses and self-catering holiday homes (apartments or villas). Hostels, guest houses and bed & breakfast (called zimmer) accommodation are also gaining popularity mainly in the hot tourist spots.
